By the action of bifenyl and hydroxylamine hydrochloride: 0.1mol of bifenyl is mixed with 0.2mol of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and a small amount of hydrochloric acid, heated and refluxed in methanol (or ethanol) solution for 2h, cooled and filtered to obtain bifenyl dioxime.
